Phase 2 – Cleanup from FS320C – FS315. Trash Cleanup & Graffiti Removal on Mount Herman Rd (FS 320). Join locals from both sides of the mountain and explore new areas. It will be done in 3 phases
Registration : 8:30am on FS Road 320, across from FS Road 318 (directions below)
Safety Briefing at FS Road 320A : 9:00am
Lunch: noon, PROVIDED. Location will be on FS320 at the intersection of 318
MEETING LOCATIONS: Carpool/Caravan to cleanup site, leaving at 8:15am
FROM MONUMENT: Meet at Dirty Woman Creek Park 1(7575 Mitchell Ave., Monument)
FROM WOODLAND PARK: Woodland Park Middle School ,(600 E. Kelley’s Rd, WP), parking lot on Rampart Range Road. Leaving at 8:15am
You may also choose not to caravan and drive directly to the Briefing site.
DIRECTIONS FROM MONUMENT
From I25, take the Monument exit #161.
Take a left onto Hwy 105
Continue through the light by the oil change center through downtown Monument.
After you cross the railroad tracks take a left onto Mitchell Ave at the stop sign
Continue approximately 1.5 miles to Mt. Herman Road on the right
(A few FoF signs will also be provided along the way)
Follow Mt. Herman Rd. 2.1 miles until it forks, and stay left.
Follow 4.8 miles and stay left as you go through the gate (FS Road 320A will go right immediately after the gate.)
Continue another 2.3 miles to the large turnout on the right with the teepees. If you pass FS Road 318 on your left, go back 0.1 mile.
DIRECTIONS FROM WOODLAND PARK
(FoF signs will also be provided along the way)
At McDonald’s turn onto Baldwin, which becomes Rampart Range Rd.
At Kelley’s Rd at the WP Middle School continue on Rampart Range Rd 1.6 miles.
At the “Y” of Loy Creek & Rampart Range Rd NF, go left
Continue 1.1 miles to another “Y” of Loy Creek and Rampart Range Rd, go left
At this point the road becomes dirt and is also labeled as CR 300
Continue 2.5 miles to CR 320 and turn right
Continue 2.7 miles to FS Road 318 on your right, and a large turnout on the right directly after it.
The road is entirely dirt, and can get bad in places. 4wd is not required but the road can get very washboard so a sturdy car is advised.
BRING: Refillable water bottle/Camelbak, gloves, wear sunscreen, a coat, long pants & STURDY shoes/boots
PROVIDED: water, gloves (if needed), grabbers, trash bag
PRE-REGISTRATION is VERY helpful so that we can be sure to bring enough supplies & food for everyone
